PTP Square Meter Calculator

square meter

The PTP Square Meter Calculator tool will help you identify the correct specifications for all of your projects, from sheds to fences!

Enter a value into the length and width input boxes to calculate the area in Square Meters.

Our Square Meter Calculator will calculate the area in square meters for the following units of measurement:

Meters, Centimeters, Millimeters, Inches, Feet, Yards.

How do you calculate square meters?

The following covers how you can calculate the area in square meters without the use of our calculator (although we’d definitely suggest using it for inches, feet and yards!)

For Meters

If you are measuring in Meters, simply multiply the length x width to get the area.
For example, 4M x 5M = 20 M Sq.

For Millimeters

If you are measuring in Millimeters, multiply the length x width to get the area, and then divide the result by 1000 to get area in meters.
For example, 4000mm x 5000mm = 20,000mm, then 20,000mm / 1000 = 20 M Sq.

For Centimeters

If you are measuring in Centimeters, multiply the length x width to get the area, and then divide the result by 100 to get area in meters.
For example, 400cm x 500cm = 2000cm, then 2000cm / 100 = 20 M Sq.

For Inches

If you are measuring in inches the formula becomes a little bit tricky.

1 inch is approximately 0.0254M. You need to divide your length and width values by 39.37 to get the values in Meters, and then multiply those values together to get the area in Meters.

For example, 100 inches (length) / 39.37 = 2.54M and 300 inches (width) / 39.37 = 7.62M.
2.54M x 7.62M = 19.35 M Sq.

For Feet

If you are measuring in feet the formula becomes a little bit tricky.

1ft is approximately 0.3048M. You need to divide your length and width values by 3.281 to get the values in Meters, and then multiply those values together to get the area in Meters.

For example, 10ft (length) / 3.281 = 3.04M and 30ft (width) / 3.281 = 9.14M.
3.04M x 9.14M = 278.7 M Sq.

For Yards

If you are measuring in Meters, simply multiply the length x width to get the area.
For example, 4M x 5M = 20 M Sq.
