ECO FRIENDLY HOMES
At PTP Cladding, we understand the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
We only source our timber from within the UK, with the majority coming from within a radius of 1-2 hours from our sawmill Llandre Sawmills, based in Radnorshire, Mid Wales.
Our range of timber cladding options includes Larch, WRC and Douglas Fir. Each of these species has unique properties that make them great choices for cladding, and we would like to share more about them with you.
Larch
Larch is a durable and strong species that is known for its resistance to rot and decay. It has a natural resistance to insects and fungal attacks, making it a great option for outdoor use. Larch also has a unique look, featuring a warm orange-brown color that will weather to a silver-grey over time, giving it a natural and rustic appearance. This species is ideal for cladding because it is long-lasting, low maintenance and visually appealing. Additionally, Larch has good insulation properties, helping to keep the heat inside the house in winter and reducing the heat gain in summer.
WRC
WRC (Western Red Cedar) is a popular choice for cladding due to its natural resistance to decay, rot and insects. It is lightweight and easy to work with, making it a great option for new construction and renovation projects. WRC has a beautiful natural colour that ranges from light to dark brown, with occasional red and yellow hues. This species is ideal for cladding because it is durable, visually appealing, and easy to work with. WRC also has good insulation properties that help reduce heat loss and keep the house warm in winter and cool in summer.
Douglas Fir
Douglas Fir is a solid and durable species known for resisting decay and insects. It has a tight, straight grain that gives it a clean, modern look, making it an excellent option for both traditional and contemporary architectural styles. Douglas Fir is also a great option for cladding because it is relatively lightweight, making it easy to work with and install. This species is ideal for cladding because it is durable, visually appealing, and easy to work with. Douglas Fir also has good insulation properties that help to keep the house warm in winter and cool in summer.
In addition to the natural insulation properties of these species, we also offer cladding lined with insulation like Kingspan, which can further improve the energy efficiency of your home. This cladding is especially effective in reducing heat loss through the walls of your home, helping to keep your energy bills low and reducing your carbon footprint.
“Our range of timber cladding options not only enhances the aesthetic of any home but also has natural insulation properties that help to reduce energy consumption. And with our commitment to locally sourcing our timber, we strive to make a positive impact on the environment.”
